Ekaterina Karabasheva

Founder, Jourvie

Social entrepreneur inspired by personal experience

The company

Jourvie is the non-profit initiative behind an app that supports people through their treatment for eating disorders – from anorexia to binge eating. It's designed to provide tools that make following treatment plans simple and unobtrusive, removing social stigma and providing motivation at every turn.  Since its inception in 2013, the app has become a vital resource for many people and its community of users continues to grow.

The company is her first social enterprise – but the PR, media and partnership management skills learned in her previous corporate roles have helped her navigate the unknown waters of the start-up world. Alongside developing Jourvie, Ekaterina speaks publicly about tech and healthcare issues, participates in hackathons and is part of Pfizer's digital healthcare innovation team.
