Head to head - EliteBook Folio

We gave a top vlogger the new HP EliteBook Folio with Intel® Core™ m7 vPro™ Processor to review. He still hasn’t given it back.

When we asked Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy to give us his take on the world’s thinnest and lightest business-class notebook, he was more than happy to apply his own tongue-in-cheek style to some serious business technology. By ‘serious’ we mean Intel® Core™ m7 vPro™ Processor; PCle SSDs; 8GB of memory, and a surprisingly long battery life. And that’s just for starters…

12.4mm thin and weighing less than 1kg

Lew is impressed by the HP EliteBook Folio’s sleek, diamond-cut, ‘aloominum’ body (he’s Canadian). As he points out, it’s passed 12 military standard tests. It’s been shaken, dropped onto various surfaces – including concrete, as well as being exposed to extreme temperatures and environments. HP’s boffins have done their worst, so you can rest assured it’s ready to handle anything your working day can throw at it. And some.

Durability is matched by form and features. Only 12.4mm thin and weighing less than 1kg, this is a notebook you can carry anywhere. A piano hinge lets it fold out flat, so it’s easy to share what’s on the screen, while the Bang & Olufson audio technology delivers exceptional sound. So it’s great for meetings.

Lew loves the keyboard. It’s been designed for collaborative communication – letting you answer calls at the touch of a button. And video calls are enhanced by the 720p camera which shows an HD quality you to the rest of the world.

You can also say goodbye to passwords thanks to the EliteBook Folio’s facial recognition technology: an infrared camera working with ‘Windows Hello’ software.

But what about the other notebook he’s there to review? For Lew’s opinion of that you’ll have to watch the video.
